Teaching Method
Instruction in piano and harpsichord. Curriculum for piano is derived from Certificate of Merit, National Guild and American Music Scholarship Association Syllabi. Course work is a comprehensive curriculum which includes technique, performance, music theory, sight-reading, ear-training, ensemble and music appreciation. The student’s skills are developed in combination with take-home written work, weekly projects in the studio’s lab program and special student workshops. The multi-media lab is an adjunct to the weekly private lessons. The studio is equipped with a computer/audio/video lab station. The station employs numerous interactive CD-ROMS, MIDI tutorial programs, videos and audio CDS. Students as young as 5 may participate. From school grade 2 and above students are expected to participate.
